Fineman to the HuffPost
Very interesting story—Howard Fineman is leaving Newsweek after thirty years, and becoming a senior editor with The Huffington Post. Intriguing implications, not only about Newsweek, which seems to be spiralling down the drain, but also for the new internet media in general. I've been visiting the Post since its inception five years ago, when it was little more than a blog. The model of using unpaid columnists and news gathered from various traditional sources has served it well. What the addition of old-guard heavyweights like Fineman means is anyone's guess.
