Bono's anti-poverty foundation ONE is scrambling to explain its finances and business practices after it was revealed that only a very small percentage of money it raises reaches the poor. Established by the aging U2 frontman in 2004, ONE collected nearly £9.6 million ($12,881,191) in donations in 2008 but gave only £118,000 ($158,310) to charitable causes (1.2 per cent). According to the New York Post, figures show that £5.1million ($6,842,229) went towards paying salaries.
I will never (sniffle) believe in anything again...
